Dirty Stop Out | Construct 3: Part 1
BIRMINGHAM DESIGN FESTIVAL
So after attending the Birmingham Design Festival (which is awesome by the way, you should go), I heard about a few new tools I hadn't heard of from one of the speakers (itch.io: pixelotl) . I took a look, and decided I'd like to have a go at using one called Construct 3.

WHY?
I figured, if I want to be able to enter game jams, I should try and use some different tools that have faster dev time. Unity is great but I'm super slow when it comes to writing in all the game logic and stuff. I decided to re-create a game I already have in there as then I don't have to focus too much on design and I can just focus on getting to know the tools.
THE VERDICT
So far it's great! And actually a really good way to introduce someone to coding as all of the logic is there, it's just in a more basic form. I began to port my game over, and within about 30 minutes, I had a character on screen and musical notes spawning and floating up past the screen. It was super quick, I'm very impressed. You can save the files locally or I just upload everything to the cloud so that I can access it from anywhere and you can use Construct from any browser, pretty sweet.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Will be dabbling further with this tool and uploading the html file when I'm done so that others can try playing it!
